Patient Testimonials

We go above and beyond to provide exceptional orthodontic care! But don’t take our word for it. Here is what some of our patients say about their ALTA SMILES experience.

“With C⁵, there was no pain while my teeth were moving and my lifestyle wasn’t changed at all, so it was great.” –

“I chose C⁵ because I’m getting married in October and this was one of the quickest procedures to get my teeth straightened in that amount of time.” –

“Nobody could notice the wires at all, and it was totally comfortable. I love my new smile – just in time for my wedding!” —

“With aligners, I was off and on, and it was hard to stay committed to them. With C⁵, it’s always there, so you don’t have to think twice about it.” –

“I also considered getting braces, but I’m going into my senior year soon and I might not have had them off by then. I wanted a good portrait and didn’t want braces at the prom.

Frequently Asked Questions

Teeth are more than just a cosmetic feature—they are an important part of our anatomy. Better nutrition, confidence, and overall wellness are all linked to properly aligned teeth.

Misaligned and crooked teeth can be painful and harmful to your overall health, in addition to lowering self-esteem and causing social anxiety. Crooked teeth can cause your bite to shift, and they can affect your facial symmetry over time. Chipping and grinding can cause damage to misaligned teeth.

Patients with crooked teeth, underbites, and overbites now have more options than ever before. ALTA SMILES' skilled orthodontists and dentists can help you achieve a beautiful smile with personalized orthodontic treatment.

We have a wide range of treatment options for people of all ages, from 7 to 87! To learn more about how each treatment works, click on the treatment name below.

Braces
ALTA SMILES' modern metal braces work by affixing metal brackets to the teeth with dental adhesive. The brackets are then snapped together with a flexible metal wire. By applying light pressure to the jaw, this flexible wire moves your teeth into the desired alignment.

Braces have been around for a long time, but today's brackets are smaller, the wires are more flexible, and the materials are more sanitary. Self-ligating wires in modern braces snap into place easily, reducing friction, treatment time, and discomfort. After you get your braces, your orthodontist will see you at regular intervals to assess your progress and adjust your braces as your teeth shift.

When you talk or smile, your braces are visible on the front of your teeth. Fortunately, the application and adjustment procedures are painless. Patients only experience minor discomfort as their teeth shift after adjustments.

Depending on the level of correction required, braces are typically worn for one to three years. You can brush and floss your teeth twice a day while wearing them. While wearing them, you must avoid sticky or crunchy foods that could get stuck in your brackets or wires.

Because braces are so safe and effective, virtually all patients with misaligned teeth are good candidates for them.

Clear Braces
Clear braces are translucent and work in the same way as traditional metal braces. Brackets and wires are still used by your orthodontist to realign your smile, but they blend in with your teeth and are less noticeable than metal braces.

Clear braces are made of a see-through ceramic material that is both durable and effective. They have smaller brackets and a special snap-in system that allows your orthodontist to make adjustments faster.

Clear braces wearers should avoid sticky and crunchy foods that can cling to or damage their brackets, just like regular braces wearers. Patients are free to brush their teeth as they normally would.

We don't need elastic bands to engage the wire because we use modern-style brackets, which are less visible and less likely to collect bacteria. We can protect your oral health this way.

Patients of all ages can benefit from clear braces, but older teens and adults prefer them because they are less noticeable than metal braces.

C5 Hidden Orthodontics
C5 Hidden Orthodontics is a lingual orthodontic treatment that is only available at ALTA SMILES. Because the wires are placed on the back of your teeth, they are completely undetectable when you smile or speak. On the other hand, clear braces and aligners, while discreet, are still noticeable.

A dental bonding material is used to attach the C5 Super-flex wires to the back of your teeth. Because the wire is smoothly sealed across your teeth, you won't be able to feel it because it won't protrude into your tongue or gums. C5 Hidden Orthodontics does not require you to refrain from eating foods that are particularly crunchy or sticky. It requires no maintenance other than brushing twice daily and flossing as usual.

This orthodontic treatment plan usually takes 6-9 months to complete. C5 Hidden Orthodontics is a cosmetic treatment that works best for mild to moderate tooth misalignment, so it isn't a good option for people who need bite correction. Adults who had braces as children but have experienced some alignment regression are ideal candidates. C5 orthodontics is typically less expensive than clear aligners.

C5 for Teens
Teens can benefit from C5 Hidden Orthodontics as well. When you smile, metal braces are visible, and clear aligners necessitate a strict brushing schedule after eating and drinking anything other than water. C5, on the other hand, is completely undetectable and requires no upkeep.

Because there are no exposed brackets to trap food, C5 Hidden Orthodontics only requires brushing twice a day. Furthermore, because the wire is sealed and attached to the back of the teeth, there is no risk of injury or the need for a customized mouth guard to protect your teeth if you participate in sports.

C5 aligners, unlike clear aligners, do not cause lisping or altered speech, which can cause self-consciousness in young patients.

Clear Aligners
Instead of using brackets and wires, clear aligners are removable aligners that are form-fitted to your teeth and use gentle force to shift teeth into alignment. Because they are firm but flexible, aligners are nearly invisible and more comfortable than braces. However, wearing aligners for 22 hours per day is required for success.

ALTA SMILES customizes aligners for each patient using 3D digital imaging. You'll get a new set of aligners every one to two weeks as your teeth shift. When your treatment begins, the total number of aligners you'll need will be determined by the severity of your misalignment. Some patients may need up to 24 months of clear aligner treatment to achieve their desired results.

Aligners allow you to brush and floss your teeth without having to worry about wires or brackets getting in the way. To avoid staining, though, you'll need to brush your teeth every time you eat or drink anything other than water.

Aligners have no dietary restrictions because you can take them out whenever you want to eat or drink.

We provide a higher level of orthodontic care by developing treatment plans, tracking your progress, and showing you your progress using the latest digital imaging technology.

Our orthodontic office will work with you to determine the best treatment option for your teeth when you come in. C5 Hidden Orthodontics is available only at our practice in the Philadelphia area.

Not only do we provide excellent results, but we also strive to make each patient's visit to our orthodontic offices as efficient and stress-free as possible.

If you are unable to visit one of our convenient locations, we invite new patients to schedule a virtual consultation.

The total cost of your braces will be determined by the type you select, the severity of your misalignment, and the length of time you must wear them. During your complimentary consultation, we'll give you a detailed quote and go over your treatment options.

The nature of your misalignment, the type of treatment method, and your ortho goals all influence our recommendations. All materials, our high-tech equipment, routine and emergency visits, and the first set of retainers are included in our fees.

We work with a variety of insurance companies to maximize your coverage. Our staff can check your eligibility and coverage to ensure you get the most out of your benefits. We also have several payment options available.

Without insurance, braces in Philadelphia cost over $6,000 on average. At ALTA SMILES, however, you won't pay anywhere near that amount, as our prices are consistently lower than the average quoted at other orthodontic practices. A free consultation is the best way to get an accurate estimate and learn about the different treatment options available.

CHIP only covers braces for children who have a significant tooth misalignment that affects their ability to speak, eat, or breathe. To cover orthodontics, CHIP requires documentation of the diagnosis and prior authorization. For cosmetic reasons, they will not cover braces.

Invisalign and Invisalign Teen are typically less expensive than braces. At other providers, the average patient pays close to $6,000 for Invisalign treatment. ALTA SMILES' locations have significantly lower aligner treatment costs. The cost will depend on the severity of your misalignment and how long it will take to correct it.
